Christy Johnson at the Science Museum of Minnesota:

RACE: Are We So Different?

I co-designed this 6,000-square-foot exhibition in 2006. It has been traveling

the U.S. since early 2007. Here are a couple websites that show some

of my designs:

Disease Detectives

I was the lone designer and illustrator for this 1,500-square-foot exhibition,

which opened at SMM in 2008 and is now traveling the U.S. This website,

designed by a former coworker, uses my illustrations, color palette, fonts,

and overall design theme:

The Dead Sea Scrolls: Words That Changed The World

The largest exhibition ever put on by SMM is The Dead Sea Scrolls:

Words That Changed The World. Combined with The Saint John's Bible

exhibition, it totals about 15,000 square feet. I'm the lead designer on The

Dead Sea Scrolls, and created the design template for The Saint John's Bible.

Both opened at SMM in March 2010 and will run through October of this year.

My team at SMM joined forces with the Israel Antiquities Authority to create

an amazing exhibition. Here's the website, designed by a coworker, that shows

my logo and some of the design elements I created for the exhibition:

What are others saying about Christy Johnson?

"Thank you so much for all of your lovely artwork. I love the straightforward

sweetness of your cards, and the small framed pieces are so fresh and bright.

Thank you for all of your talent. We enjoy having your art at CorAzoN."

--Susan Zdon, co-owner of CorAzoN, Minneapolis, MN

"When I asked Christy to design the invitations for my wedding, I didn't

have much of an idea of what I wanted. In fact, the way the invitations

looked was pretty low on my priority list. After our initial consultation

about colors and the style of my wedding, Christy came back with the

most amazing and unique invitation suite I have seen. Invitations went

from inconsequential to a template for the design and feel of my entire

wedding. Christy sent me individual files of her gorgeous drawings to use

for programs and favor bags, recommended a printer, and was communicative

and helpful throughout the whole process. She was a joy to work with and

I continue to recommend her to every bride I meet."

--Sarah Asp Olson, Statesboro, GA

"Christy is an amazingly talented graphic designer and artist. She designed

my business cards as well as the invitations, table cards, place cards, programs,

and thank-you cards for my wedding. She is flexible with schedules and very

easy to work with. She does an exceptional job of providing the results that the

client envisioned."

--Julie Westbrock Healy, Richfield, MN

"I absolutely loved working with Christy because she is friendly, is easy to contact

and meet with, and has the best and most original ideas that I have ever seen.

She designed our wedding invitations, RSVP cards, groom's dinner invitations,

map/directons cards, itineraries, programs, and thank-you postcards. Christy was

very in tune with our needs: she always showed us what she was thinking and asked

if it is what we wanted. Everything was done in a timely manner and we always

felt at ease knowing that things were in good hands. The price was very reasonable;

she stuck within our budget. We had so many people tell us that our invites and

programs were 'the best they had ever seen.' They loved the design and thought

the colors were very original."

--Stacey Sheetz, St. Cloud, MN

"Christy created the branding design and collateral for my firm, Caliber Partners.

She was simply delightful to work with and was very knowledgeable. She expertly

guided me through the design process to create a brand and collateral that are

absolutely perfect. I receive compliments and positive feedback on my brand

continuously. Christy provided excellent service--she delivered not only the design,

but acted on my behalf to secure the best rates and products from her partners

in the printing community, which saved me a great deal of time and effort. I will

continue to work with Christy as my business grows, and I highly recommend

her work and professionalism."
